I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Northeastern University, where I study polarization and the production of politicized knowledge. In my work I use diverse quantitative methods to explore the co-constitution of identity, meaning, and political conflict.
My dissertation pursues this objective by looking at how polarization in the US differs among partisans, not only as a matter of degree, but as a matter of kind. Now I am broadening this agenda by looking at the production and dissemination of feminist knowledge in academic organizations.
Finally, I examine the connection political identity and conflict in work on the evolving politicization of discourse around COVID-19, as well as research on immigrant collective action.
I am also a singer and conductor, and directed Perfect Fifth, a small student choral ensemble, from Fall 2014 to Spring 2022.
